MOSCOW, Apr 29 (PRIME) -- Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz, affiliate of oil producer Gazprom Neft, has discovered two clusters on the Vorgensky licensed field in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District with initial geological resources estimated at 80 million tonnes of oil equivalent, Gazprom Neft said in a statement Wednesday.
"Vorgensky is the largest field in the asset portfolio of Noyabrskneftegaz to date,” CEO of Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz Alexander Shushakov said, as cited in the statement.
“Understanding the oil drainage line will allow us to raise effectiveness of exploratory and search drilling and accelerate subsequent development of the territory which will be an important factor for further development not only of our company but of the entire oil production on the Yamal penincula."
The company will do 3D seismic exploration and exploratory drilling until 2025 in order to understand the resource potential.
